       Last week, we went again to Chicago Cultural Center because there was a new exhibit. The artwork that attracted me most was called Bullet Dress. It was made by Melissa Doud who was one of the U.S. Army veteran. This work is placed at the entrance of the exhibition hall, where people can see it first. It is an Army uniform with 365 bullet casings. Melissa Doud wanted to display the path he went through to get here, and he also want to use his experience in cultural dance to help others.

The museum was established in 1967, and is one of the largest contemporary art museums in the world. This museum is easy to find, and is located in 220 E Chicago Ave, Chicago. The museum's collection has grown to include more than 2,000 works.People can experience the work and ideas of living artists and understand the historical, social, and cultural context of the art of our time. We visited this museum last week and mainly visited the 4th floor of the museum. The 4th floor was dedicated to art in the caribbean diaspora. The exhibition is anchored in the concept of diaspora,They tokes the 1990s as its cultural bocidrop, gathering artworks by thirty-seven arfists. What attracted me most is the work called LANDSCAPE, which is the work of Albert and designed by Anita Robin Family Gallerys. This art work is very colorful and lush beauty of the tropical landscape. However, it conceals painful and violent histories. It makes me feel beautiful but sad.

     It is hard to imagine that there is such an amazing and artistic place at HaroldWashington College. Art Exhibit is located on the eleventh floor and it was my first time to visit there. I was most shocked by this piece of art, which is named Natalia Cuevas. When I saw this artwork, I thought it cannot be called artwork. However, after I saw its explanation I changed my mind. It is telling about migrant deaths along the U.S. Mexican border and has a deep meaning.

  The tour experience was a new experience for me. I felt like I was a tour guide. Fenny and I were responsible for introducing the Richard J. Daley Center. It is a civic center. This place is special and easy to remember because it is the same as Richard J. Daley, once the mayor of Chicago, and most memorable is the picasso sculpture.   In addition, I was very interested in the Hao and Yang group's Marina City. I had often passed by and seen this building, but I didn't know much about it. I only knew it looks like a corn, but I didn't know it was also a "city-within-a-city," because there are many  restaurants   , stores,  theater, bowling alley inside.

 My experience painting the Harold Washington mural This was my first time painting a m ural , and I was very excited. I was assigned to color in the details. Originally, I thought that coloring would be a very simple thing, and I would finish it quickly. In fact, I had to apply it several times to get the color perfect. I didn't finish the part I was responsible for until after class.  I really enjoy the feeling of putting my heart and soul into painting. At that time, I felt like I am a famous painter. Thanks to my partner fenny, she had been with me to finish   even after class . I had a very pleasant experience. Hope to have more new experiences like this.

 My experience exploring the AIC website The AIC website is a very informative website that has taught me a lot about art. Its homepage is simple, but it shows important things. I can find almost everything I want to know about the Art Institute of Chicago on this website. I don't have a lot of experience browsing other art museum websites, so I can't have a lot of comparisons. I especially like the content of the series, which shows the artist, title, date, brief description and related works for each artwork. There are three images from the collection: No 1: Train station Walter Ellison was created the train station in 1935.  On the left, white passengers, assisted by black porters, embark on vacations to Florida on southbound trains. On the right, black passengers board train cars heading north to Chicago.  For me, this work is a good illustration of the inequalities in the world. Racism still exists.
